Ascend has created this Privacy Policy to explain the type of information gathered from its User’s use of the Website and its services, and how such information may be used.
If you are between 13 and 17 years of age, you should have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to use this Website and the Service. For the purpose of these Terms, if you are a minor, “you” or “your” as used herein shall be deemed to include your parent or legal guardian.
As a general policy, no “Personally Identifiable Information” (as defined below) is automatically collected from a Visitor’s visit to the Website. However, certain non-personal information, including the type of browser being used, its operating system and the Visitor’s IP address, may be recorded by the standard operation of the Website’s internet servers. This information can be used to help diagnose server problems, administer the Website and generally enhance the Visitor’s online experience. This information will not be made accessible to any person or entity not authorized by or associated with Ascend.
Personally Identifiable Information includes: (i) contact data (such as a User’s first and last name, physical street address, city, state, zip code, phone number and email address), (ii) demographic data (such as a User’s zip code, age and gender), and (iii) personal data necessary to become a Member.
When we collect Personally Identifiable Information from you it is because you are voluntarily submitting such information in order to register as a Member of the Website or because you want us to furnish you with products, services, newsletters, or information, or in connection with content or suggestions you submit to Ascend for review.
Members may also choose to provide or store Personally Identifiable Information in their profiles, including but not limited to date of birth, interests, hobbies, lifestyle choices, groups with whom they are affiliated (schools, companies), videos and/or pictures, private messages, bulletins or personal statements. This information in a Member’s profile is provided at his or her sole discretion.
The profile of a minor who is between the ages of 13 and 17 shall be made “friends only” by default. However, such minor will be able to make his/her profile “public” if he/she wishes to do so.
From time to time we may provide your Personally Identifiable Information to companies and individuals we engage or employ to perform services on our behalf (collectively “Service Providers”), such as analyzing information, providing marketing assistance and/or providing information technology and related services.
Personally Identifiable Information will not be sold or leased to any person or entity without our authorization. However, please be advised that certain Personally Identifiable Information becomes public record upon the posting of such information on the Website, even if you set your profile to “friends only.”

This demographic information will usually only represent aggregate information and is not normally linked to any personal information that can identify a specific User.
Ascend may also disclose a User’s Personally Identifiable Information in special cases when Ascend has reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference (either intentionally or unintentionally) with Ascend’s rights or property, another User or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities.
