Nice Job with the "tip of the week"! I too break down big goals into smaller goals. For example one of my long-term goals is to ensure my daughter has a great education. To make that happen, I've created a series of smaller goals each with a specific focus like helping her with reading and spelling (for now). One of my "tips" that really works for me is visualization. As hokey as it sounds, I have a visualization board I look at every morning that has pictures of certain things that I am working towards (near-term and long-term). The pictures represent what I want for my family and for me ... and they remind me what I working towards. One example of a long term personal goal is when I'm 55 (10 years from now) I want to teach at ESADE an international B-school in Spain. That said, I firmly believe that you must be able to visualize yourself achieving the goal to make it happen. Put another way "the me I see is the me I'll be" I love that quote, not sure where it is from .. maybe the movie Jerry McGuire. Bottom line, visualization is a powerful tool to help maintain focus, desire and a positive attitude for it literally allows you to see yourself in the successful outcome you are going for.

Hey DC, I checked out the meetup link, and it looks really sweet. That said, I would definitely like to check it out for sure. But, as I said in my last post, it will have to be sometime in April (need to get my stamina up). Thanks again for the invite .. that way really cool of you.

Hey DC, thanks for the post. I'm up in the foothills, but I make it down to OC on a regular basis… I lived in the OC for 15 years before I got married and moved inland ;) I will check out your meet-up link for sure come April (I need to pick up my cardio training the next 6 weeks for I’m lagging in my sparring). It is always good to hang out with like minded people … and it would be awesome to learn some moves from other styles. Thanks again for thinking of me DC.
