Re: losing 6lbs. I have lost 1.5 lbs so far by cutting down on snacks and increasing my steps( pedometer) to somewhere between 12,000 and 15,000 steps per day. I obviously haven't gotten really serious about this yet because I haven't cut out (unhealthy) snacking all together. I think I need to up the game. I haven't tried tracking food yet because It seems too tedious, but I will take a look at fitday.com to see how it works! thanks piaflynn
I am a natural pack rat, and my husband is a neat freak! So to keep the peace I have to decide my battle everyday...the mess or him. (he doesn't usually say anything, he is just way obviously stressed out by it!) The best thing that works for me is simply choose to keep going. If I stop to try to write down or plan what I need to do, I've wasted time. I could have gotten real work done. I also start with one room at a time and finish it completely before I move to the next thing...I get distracted easily. I don't go through every little thing unless I plan for it specifically (usually one big thing a week; like the closets:)) I clean the most visual mess first, then if I have time I do the stuff that no one sees. And cleaning first is best for me because as soon as I try to take a break for me, I can't get motivated again very easily. Work then play! Really, I have a hard time a lot of the time, but I can really enjoy my home and family when we aren't stressed by the mess. That keeps me going. Just choose to keep going and tell yourself to keep moving everytime you get distracted or discouraged. Do a little everyday, and keep up with the obvious stuff and it will eventually get easier and just be second nature to keep up with it. I love to have company, too, so a clean house is a must...my litttle incentive:D I hope this helps
