My Goals

Oh the 'things' I have purchased!!!! =)
If you do purchase what you do not need... wait a day, maybe a couple of days - if you want to put it in the closet, on the shelf - so be it... but do not remove the tags / packaging just yet! I found myself returning these 'things' within a couple of days after staring at them, and realizing my bills were more important than what I had needlessly purchased! - After ALOT of return trips -it's much easier these days to pass up what I do not need. =) Good luck!!!

Libramom- I see what you mean- She definitely likes the reward system- so far so good- a few things here and there that have happened since we started this- but she seems to respond well to it :D Good to know I am not the only one struggling with wants lol;)

That happens to me every time I walk into a store! LOL I literally have to tear myself away or else I'll by all my wants! ... (shhh ... sometimes I give in too!) ;)
No suggestion for that sorry - it's ALL self control :(

Thank you for your thoughts! What about the times when you know you don't need something- but you want it- and you say- oh well I will get it anyway- I will be ok- And then your not and you pay for it later? I know where this habit comes from, unfortunately, it is exactly that- A habit. Some times I am really good with this- I say no and walk away- Other times I indulge and find myself in a crunch! Any suggestions?

Hi Jezebel :)
I you do a google search on "tips for creating a budget" you should get some great ideas.
A few things I have learned ... I had a tendency to waste food in my house. There is only two of us and I used to cook very large meals with the intention of having leftovers later in the week. Well, guess what, we hate leftovers lol and there was a ridiculous amount of food being thrown away at weeks end.
I've learned to make all sorts of pasta dishes that are healthy, inexpensive and budget friendly. & I had to learn how to separate my needs from my wants when I went food shopping. (Wish I had done this ages ago!)
Also, I've cut corners on my cable bill. If you have a cell phone, that might be sufficient enough for you ... even when I'm home I don't use my the house phone. & I cut out all the extra movie channels except for one. Eating out for me would never be easy to cut back on because we are always on the run. We eat out at least 2x's a week... I know, that's too much. :)
Good luck with this!! :)
