About Me

I'm a bizarre, free-spirited recluse. I *love* music! (in reasonable doses, of course) I'm carrying a few... only a few extra pounds on me and am VERY whimpy when it comes to exercise. I'd very much like to get back into shape, and I have some other goals that I believe would be worthwhile to track. This site is pretty awesome so far.

Hi Kilyke! Sorry to hear about your setbacks, but don't let them get the best of you!! You can do this. And, try not to compare yourself to anyone (I know this is easier said than done). Look inward and try to figure out why you have set these goals, and how much it really means to you to accomplish them. If you really want it, you will make it happen. I set my goals back in December, and I continue to tweak and adjust my goals regularly so that they work for me. You have to create a detailed plan that is going to work for you, and if it isn't working don't be afraid to change it a bit. I used to think I failed if I had to adjust my goals, but now I know that it is just part of the journey...and if I want to attain my goals, I have to be flexible...

Very good goal...surfing is fun, however, physically demanding at times. Shoulder strength is very important even for the new surfer...try some basic exercises in your office or home with your arms extended straight out palms up. Do very small for circles for one minute forward, then reverse. This will make your delts stronger over time and can be done anywhere. Move to light dumbells next (2 pounds to start). You will reach your surfing goal.

Hi Kilyke! Welcome. Good luck with your fitness goals. Love your goal to make dinner 3 nights a week! I really need to be better at that too!
